| Tiivistelmä: | Many firms are aiming at being certificated according to the quality norms developed by the International Organization of Standardization. This involves documenting the processes, rules, and procedures and can be seen as documenting the potential of a firm to offer good product quality. Such a certificate of quality could reduce buyer's percieved risk of acquiring a product of inferior quality if the certificate is seen as being effective in improving the firms processes and if exogenous factors play only a minor role. The more companies are forced to be certificated, the less could a certificate be a competitive advantage. |
