Tiivistelmä:The "Marshall-Lerner" conditions mean that of one country wants to improve its trade receipts and payments by adjusting exchange rates, foreign countries' price elasticity of demand to its export commodities and its price elasticity of demand to imported commodities shall all be quite satisfied. In addition, the sum of the absolute value of the two elastic coefficients of demand must be larger than 1.Under such a condition, the ideal active effect can be created. But at present, China's elastic coefficient of import demand is 0.6871 and that of export demand is 0.4960. It shows that the role of the external devaluation of RMB in the aspect of "encouraging export and restricting import" has been restricted greatly.
