| Tiivistelmä: | This paper focuses on an analytical study of optimal policies and rules regarding capacity expansion, overtime and production smoothing to minimize the costs of investment, production, inventories and backlogs. These factors are considered at one hierarchial level that is of special interest for the rapidly changing, modern production and market environment. At the same time, basic production constraints as well as general cost dependencies are introduced into the present model. |
