| Tiivistelmä: | This editorial article deals with the issue of the title. There are forces of globalization, privatization and liberalization that are sweeping the economies, including in the Middle East. With such transformation of various economies to adjust and adapt to the new world economic order, it is imperative that all countries adopt the new information and communication technologies as to properly integrate into the global economy. The role played by IT (information technology) is unique. The degree of IT development in different regions and countries of the world will greatly impact their respective socio-economic development. |
