| Tiivistelmä: | The paper compares the structure of corporate governance across diversified and single-segment firms, and reexamines the empirical link between agency costs and diversification. While previous studies have considered separately the relation between inside ownership, compensation levels, and the extent of diversification, this paper is unique in that it recognizes the alternative governance mechanisms available to firms. |
