| Tiivistelmä: | In the last decade it has become increasingly apparent that development theory and practice are fundamentally flawed. In general, the problems experienced by the poor majority of the world's people appear to be worsening. Conventional or modernization theory attempts little or no justification for the assumption that its approach to development is likely to solve the problems. However, radical theory is also in disarray, being divided and for the most part unable to give satisfactory accounts of the development impasse or a way out. |
