| Tiivistelmä: | This paper examines the relationship between inflation and various components of central bank independence for twelve transitional economies. The results indicate that instrument independence coupled with a lack of goal and legal independence results in lower average rates of inflation. In recent years an extensive body of literature has developed concerning the relationship between central bank independence and inflation. |
