| Tiivistelmä: | This paper analyzes the various political changes in Ghana between 1951 and 1992. It is argued that the macroeconomic performance of the economy has been the major agent of political change in Ghana. While the links between the economy and political change in Western democracies usually finds expression in the ballot box, the barrel of the gun has more often than not, been the avenue for change throughout Ghana's political history. |
