| Tiivistelmä: | This paper deals with the global power games played btw. global business, nation-states and movements rooted in civil society. It is purported that, in an age of global crises and risks, the creation of a dense network of transnational interdependencies is precisely what is needed for regaining national autonomy, not least as to a highly mobile world economy. Hence, it is argued that there is the need for a paradigm shift of the social sciences, from 'methodological nationalism' to 'methodological cosmopolitanism'. |
