The products are designed primarily to provide personal "freshness" and a clean odour, with the secondary function of antiperspirant capability very much subordinated in the French market. Deodorants are broadly split into women's and family products and those designed specifically for men. Further segmentation occurs according to packaging: aerosols, sticks, pump-action sprays, roll-ons and more recently creams.
