Tiivistelmä:A survey of directors of human resources and international operations at 74 U.S. companies with substantial foreign activities confirms recent research showing the decline in premature departures from foreign assignments, and attributes it to changes in environmental factors and corporate policies and practices (herein: f-p-p). However, these same f-p-p may presage new or exacerbated international human resource challenges, like greater cost and difficulty in developing mobile managers' knowledge of international operations. Such challenges may require new company practices.
