Tiivistelmä: | Leibniz' assumption is that an isomorphic relationship between the logical and ontological areas is the precondition which enables denotation. The 'signum', or sign vehicle, expresses a 'notio' that is a concept based on an idea fundamental to the object. In real life, however, complete characterization is impossible. Sign systems are area- specific and ordinary language is used for correlating sign and meaning. |
