| Tiivistelmä: | Baumgarten was the first to give aesthetics the status of an independent discipline of philosophy, of which semiotics was meant to be a precursor. The article explains how Baumgarten treated the question of poetic thought within the broader concept of aesthetics which he regarded as an organ of sensory experience. |
