| Tiivistelmä: | The article is to the effect that in the pragmatics of institutions apart from the 'surface structure' of strategies, act patterns and utterance types there are 'deeper structures' of verbal signs which determine the features of institutional contexts. This assertion is illustrated with examples of the course of action in courts of justice. |
