| Tiivistelmä: | This paper uses non-parametric technique from the theory of preference to address a number of questions of interest to those who model the determination of consumption, liquid assets and leisure hours. The primary assumption underlying much work in this area is that demand functions for consumer goods are consistent with the hypothesis that they are derived from the maximization of a well-behaved utility function subject to relevant budget constraints. To avoid problems caused by this approach, the non-parametric revealed preference approach was elaborated. This method is exploited here in several ways. |
