| Tiivistelmä: | A set of model, based on differing conceptions of the informal sector, is offered in the paper, investigating the question of the desirability of foreign investment. The work can be seen as an investigation of an equilibrating condition in the factor market whereby the return in one sector is a weighted average of that in the other two sectors, these weights being the proportions of sector- specific employment. The basic result is that capital inflows under a tariff but with full repatriation of profits are immizerizing if and only if the import sector is capital-intensive. |
