Tiivistelmä:Utilizing a proxemic dispute in the transference of TQM between Japanese and U.S. organizations as a prototype, argues that management systems have a "secondary" or derivative status in relation to national cultures. cultural constraints must be anticipated and addressed when management theories or innovations are introduced and diffused. A "culture specific" approach to cross-cultural management necessitates that indigenous national values be carefully scrutinized in the transference of organizational values in international ventures.
