Tiivistelmä: | Stanford, the nexus of capital high technology and brainpower, is the intellectual incubator of the digital age. Intense ambition and nascent capitalism are everywhere in Silicon Valley. Amazing thing about the development of Silicon Valley is how much all of it was planned. In late 1930s Frederic Terman, a professor of engineering wanted to establish a center of technology in the area around Stanford . Terman helped create few crucial institutional links with industry. Ever since, Stanford has kept up productive relationships with businesses. The university is a huge pool of talent that supplies the Valley with many of its bankers, engineers, lawyers, and venture capitalists. |
