Tiivistelmä:The article presents a study which examined the application of a market orientation model to manufacturing companies in Saudi Arabia. Model is presented by Kohli and Javorsky (in 1990 and 1993). In the investigation, a sample of 115 Saudi Arabian manufacturing companies was studied. There is an examination of the properties of the scales pertaining to the constructs in the market orientation model. Results are mostly consistent with the findings of the traditional Javorsky and Kohli methods whereas they are not consistent with the structural equations of the LISREL model. Presented are e. g. the definition of market orientation, investigation of the top management characteristics in the companies, relationship btw. market orientation and organizational performance, and analysis of hypotheses on market orientation.
