| Tiivistelmä: | On the basis of discussing the economic characteristics of natural monopoly industries, the essay analyses the issue of comparative efficiency of natural monopoly and competition and emphatically puts forward the thought of government control policy in order to realize effective competition in natural monopoly industries. That is to say, government should take into account both the slow increase of costs in natural monopoly industries and positive role of the competitive system when making control policies. Its aim is to maximize the economic efficiency of the society by giving full scope to their comprehensive functions. |
