| Tiivistelmä: | This paper is based upon the development issues associated with downhill skiing at the Cairngorm ski area in the Scottish Highlands of Great Britain, and empirical research conducted with 490 downhill skiers concerning their attitudes to the environment in which they ski. The Cairngorm ski area was chosen because planned further development of the ski area has brought it into confrontation with conservation groups over the possible detrimental effects upon the natural environment. |
