| Tiivistelmä: | This paper investigates the relationship btw. the widening participation (hereafter as: prt-n.) performance (here as: perf.) indicators (as: inds.) adopted in U.K. higher education (HE) and the government's objective of increasing overall HE prt-n. rates. The development of perf. monitoring in HE is critically assessed and weaknesses are identified in the current perf. inds. from the perspective of the main stakeholders. The development of internal inds. and benchmarks is suggested by HE institutions together with extensions to the current national perf. inds. that could improve their usefulness. |
