Tiivistelmä:The article examines in detail the impact of organizational visibility, firm size and industry on corporate philanthropic (humane) expenditures drawing upon a sample of UK corporations. The findings suggest, consistent with earlier studies, that, in general, larger firms give more to charity. However, the identified impact of size is only roughly half of that found in earlier studies, and the effect of visibility on humanity has nearly the same magnitude. Therefore, the study suggests that organizational visibility plays an important role in shaping firm behaviour.
