| Tiivistelmä: | The paper develops and empirically investigates the notion of network configuration for innovation. Findings of an in-depth study of the evolution of three innovation networks in the global fibre industry are presented. Also the mechanisms by which firms configure extended networks throughout the innovation processes are discussed. Based on the findings it seems that successful innovation network configuration involves recognising where in the net work the innovation value resides and developing capabilities and mechanisms to understand and access such value. |
