Tiivistelmä:In this study the authors investigate the appliance of high performance work systems (HPWS), to service sector. The author study the topic by analysing data collected through a survey of Australian aged-care workers in 2005. The findings of the study indicate that HPWS can have positive outcomes for workers in the service sector. For example highly skilled nurses are no more likely than lowly skilled personal care workers to be subject to HPWS; and in some cases HPWS can be more beneficial for low-skilled workers than high-skilled workers. Thus the authors suggest that HPWS may infact be widely applicable in service settings.
