| Tiivistelmä: | A Decision Support System (DSS) is developed to improve the operation of a power generating system. Although several optimization models have been previously presented with this objective the concept of DSS is found more appropriate to study such a problem. This system is being gradually applied the Portuguese cases and includes 8 models concerned with the following types of problems: modeling and prediction of hydrologic inflows, study of outages of the thermal generation system, forecasting of demand, analysis of the balance between annual energy demand and supply, optimization of the reservoirs control and simulation of operational policies. |
