| Tiivistelmä: | An empirical investigation of the effects of a prolonged strike on the psychological well-being of workers is reported. The model development is described. A sample of 1400 strikers was randomly selected. The General Health Questionnaire /Goldberg, 1972/ was used. The findings support the research proposition that greater levels of savings, favorable attitudes toward the union and shorter expected duration of the strike will positively affect the psychological health of strikers. However increases in the expected duration of the strike adversely affect the strikers' psychological health. |
