| Tiivistelmä: | The growth of unionism among managerial and professional employees is described by analysing the different trends since 1945. The recent developments are contrasted with those of the 1970s. The role of employer strategies and the reactions of unions are examined. In analysing the recent changes, a typology of union recruitment strategies is formulated. Despite all difficulties managers'unionism is unlikely to lose all the achievements gained since 1945. |
