| Tiivistelmä: | Senior management is showing greater interest in anything that can improve its company's competitive advantage. Information and information systems are thereby becoming as important as vital resources, comparable to human and financial resources. Yet these same managers seem to be taking little interest in information technology, often considered as a "state within a state", nor in those responsible for it. The reasons behind this paradoxical situation are examined and several appropriate ways of managing information resources are proposed. One of them is seeking an improved equilibrium in the type of tasks assigned to those designated as "directors of information resources". |
