| Tiivistelmä: | The article tries to show how to optimize production processes, in which two or more products are made on the same machines in such a way that total output is more (or total cost is less) than the sum of the individual outputs or costs. As examples for such a process, turbines are considered, which produce two or three different kinds of steam and electric energy. Dynamic programming is used to do the optimization. Independently from this example general mathematical models are developed for the production of two, three and n different products. How to do the optimization is shown by two numerical examples, one for three turbines, one for three machines, where each of them can put out three different kinds of products. |
