Tiivistelmä:This paper investigates the corporate responsibility (hereafter as: CR) - economic performance relationship with a simultaneous emphasis on comprehensiveness and disaggregation. It presents a theoretical discussion and a tentative manager survey, ending with hypotheses for future research. CR issues are covered in three sustainability dimensions and three product chain stages, as the study seeks systematic patterns in the economic performance impacts of these issues, reporting separately on the cost-side and revenue-side impacts. Certain differences between sustainability dimensions and product chain stages are pointed to as far as revenues and individual cost components are concerned. Economic responsibility issues and supplier issues seem to stand out as less profitable than others.
