| Tiivistelmä: | If ecological disaster is to be averted, the consumption patterns of the industrialized countries must be changed very soon. In addition to this, conditions must be created in which the developing countries can meet the growing needs of their populations without compounding the damage caused by the developed nations. They need an international system that offers them financial and technological support to effect the transition to strong and ecologically sustainable economies. This calls for a wholly new global partnership based on common interests, mutual need and shared responsibilities. |
