| Tiivistelmä: | This paper discusses the sociology of money. According to the author, all forms of money should be considered dual: as monies of account and as monetary media. This enables us to see euro as a higly unorthodox and hybrid currency. It is also suggested that the euro zone represents a special case of currency homogenization that may actually stimulate monetary diversification. |
