| Tiivistelmä: | The authors summarize the basic theoretical arguments and the empirical implications to be tested. The next section defines the set of explanatory variables and the econometric specification. In the following section, the results achieved for the traditional Grubel-Lloyd index are discussed. Next, the authors introduce an alternative approach to analyze vertical intra-industry specialization and factor endowments; to do this, the authors first characterize Spanish vertical intra-industry trade specialization with regard to OECD countries. Finally, some concluding remarks are presented. The paper provides a substantial list of references on this subject. |
