Tiivistelmä: | The purpose of the article is to offer a typology for hotels based on their marketing information systems configurations. A study is conducted to investigate important factors affecting the effectiveness of MrkIS and the adoption of specific marketing applications. Data is collected from 254 high-end hotels in Greece, and construed through cluster analysis, where clusters were defined by the use of the hotels' marketing applications. Three types of hotels are identified: transactional-oriented, sales-oriented and market-oriented. The study provides ideas for hotel managers of how to analyze the possible benefits of their marketing information systems. |
