| Tiivistelmä: | The history of Western direct investment involvement in socialist economies is outlined. The current factual situation in this area is described. The impact of the investments on economic development of the CMEA countries is analyzed. Data are presented about the size of the investments. The joint-venture policy of different countries is discussed.A table is showing selected western investment projects domiciled in Hungary and Bulgaria. The structure of the projects is outlined. The distribution of joint ventures in Eastern Europe in 1984 is analyzed. The original role of the investments is compared with the results. |
