| Tiivistelmä: | The increasing importance of ethical requirements that the national economy and the companies should meet is emphasized. There are, however, some uncertainties about the real understanding of the ethical norms. Arguments are presented that close relationships exist between business ethics and the economic - as well as the political - system of society. Some fundamental views on human being and society are explained. The growing importance of social responsibility in business activities is highlighted. The role of the State and that of the private companies in seeking ethical solutions to complex economic problems is examined. Some possible conflicts between ethical requirements and motivation to succeed are discussed. |
