| Tiivistelmä: | The competitiveness of Swiss companies is investigated. Some research findings concerning the relationship between the quality of management and competitiveness in Switzerland are described. This relationship is in the centre of research efforts at the Institute of Business Administration of University of Basel. A number of influencing factors of the quality of management are identified. The role of Switzerland's national culture in the development of the participative style of corporate management is highlighted. Some comparisons between the managerial behaviour and the political processes are made. It is shown how company management in Switzerland is challenged by the increasing internationalization of business. |
