Tiivistelmä:Studies of consumer problems in present-day China falls roughly into three periods: 1. period of start-up (1978-1985). With open discussions of the purpose of socialist production and strategic reform of China's economic system, more and more translations of and introductions to problems and theories concerning foreign consumers appeared in published or internally-issued books and magazines. Scholars making tentative probes into this subject were making their appearance; 2. period of expansion (1986-1989). Investigation and discussions of a particular topic increased remarkably, so did the content of academic information with breakthrough in the scope and depth of research; 3. period of creation (1990-1995). More case studies and probes of new problems were reported.
