| Tiivistelmä: | Britain's top private companies are powering their way out of the recession, with many reporting big increases in both turnover and profits compared with earlier years. Selected from over one million private companies which file annual accounts at Companies House in the UK, they range from a turnover of 4.9 billion pounds at the top, down to just 95 million pounds at number 100. Because UK companies usually register accounts between a year and 18 moths behind the current trading year, our list are perhaps the clearest picture yet of the health of Britain's top private companies post-recession. Not too much should be read into the thin profit margins of the majority, however, as this is a matter over which private companies have much greater control than their quoted sisters. |
