Tiivistelmä:The authors study optimal lot-splitting policies in a multiprocess flow shop environment to minimize either mean flow time or makespan. Relying on a quadratic programming approach, the optimal split of a job into smaller sublots is determined. The results stem from a deterministic environment, but also provide information on repetitive lots scheme in stochastic environment.
