| Tiivistelmä: | The German Advisory Council (Sachverstandigenrat) suggested in 1989 that a system of family doctors be implemented in order to decrease the workload of specialists. The suggestion was hotly debated but neither side had reliable statistics on the plausible effect of such a move. The article analyses the medical contact data of the FRG in a regional breakdown to find out how the workload of generalists versus specialists will change. |
