| Tiivistelmä: | The pace of economic expansion in the new federal states accelerated at the start of this year. In the first quarter total output was more than a tenth higher than in the same period the previous year. The source of this dynamic remains the construction industry, with investment in modernisation of the housing stock and new housing construction as the driving force. At the start of the year output in the construction industry was up a quarter on the previous year. |
