| Tiivistelmä: | The tasks of an environment-oriented company management are discussed. Environmental protection should never be tackled in a half-hearted manner just to comply with legislation and official regulations. The role of persuasion is emphasized. A programme of environmental protection developed in a chemical plant is described. Another example is presented to show how a strategy for environmental protection has been determined in a company of the food and drink industry. An institutionalized environmental protection programme provides - as in the case of work safety and work organization - the chance to operate very successfully on a long-term basis. |
