| Tiivistelmä: | The popularity of video conference has increased in the last few years among managers. Recently, complete equipment can be purchased for only 40 000 DEM. Howerer, the cost of using the network, which is possessed by the monopolist German Post, is considerable. A possible solution of this problem has been at the Cebit computer show in Hannover. The solution is based on the use of multi-functional PCs, which can communicate with each other through traditional cables, while video conference techniques uses expensive glass fibers. In Germany, the presently existing 800 so called ISDN connections can be used for the purpose of video conference with PCs. |
