| Tiivistelmä: | The analysis of the efficiency of resource utilization is a topic that has generated a great deal of interest among students of Mexico's economic development. Various estimates exist of the growth of total factor productivity and labour productivity for certain periods. It is worth noting that the measurement of productivity growth is very sensitive to the method of estimation, the information sources used , and the selection of the base year. Nonetheless, there seems to be agreement among different authors regarding the low dynamism of productivity during the period of import substitution. |
