| Tiivistelmä: | Productivity growth is important for economic development. Even if there is no change in the supply of factors of production such as capital and labour, productivity growth will expand the level of production. Competitive pressure on firms and the ability of firms to increase productivity are important factors determining TFP growth. In this study the authors examine empirically the determinants of TFP growth for Thai manufacturing industries in the 1970s and 1980s focusing on the effect of trade policies on TFP growth. |
