| Tiivistelmä: | This article examines the potential trade distorting effect of state trading enterprises. The authors study state trading enterprises with an emphasis on the importing country. The results indicate that state trading enterprises do create distortion. The nature of the distortion depends on the nature of exclusive rights given by the government to the state enterprise. |
