Tiivistelmä:This paper suggests a structural model specifying firm growth as a function of firm-specific parameters, market-specific parameters, and competition for purchasing power. Btw. two firm innovation strategies, that is, exploration and exploitation are distinguished in the model. Based on a set of simulations, a set of empirically testable hypotheses are derived. In addition, it is possible to derive further testable propositions on the interaction of firm-demographic processes, innovative behaviour and market structure beyond the existing literature.
