| Tiivistelmä: | The VCR market developed appreciably in France. Data and trends of production and demand are summarized. Household penetration remained very low. Domestic production is limited, the bulk of VCRs are imported from Japan. Three plants can be found for VCR assembly and production in the country. There are three major system categories with very restricted interchangeability. Tables are presented about imports, sales by system, household VCR ownership by socio-economic criteria. Manufacturers' market shares are analyzed. The most important retail chains are electrical and audio specialists. General forecasts are showing much room for growth in the sector thanks to ownership levels of colour television. |
